Instructions for Requesting Approval of an Outside Course

• Download the Request for Outside Courses form.
• If the course you've selected is not on the Pre-Approved Course List, below, you must obtain a syllabus and submit it together with your Request for Outside Courses form.
• Submit your Request for Outside Courses form to the Office of the Dean at [email protected]. You will receive notification whether or not the course has been approved.
• You should not register for an outside course until you have received confirmation that the course is approved.
• After the summer session is completed, you must request that an official transcript from the institution you attended be sent to:

  Once we receive your transcript, the credits will be processed and will appear on your YU transcript. Please allow two to four weeks for processing.
